Turmeric

Turmeric belongs to the ginger family, zingerberaceae which is a family of flowering plant. It has been used as a spice and as medicine for the centuries. It was known to indians from the ancient times, they use it for spice, medicine and religious purpose and India is the largest producer of turmeric in the world. It is also used for dying clothes. It has anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and healing properties, which makes it one of the most used medicinal plant or spice. Active compound present in turmeric which is curcumin has many health benefits.

Turmeric has been used for skin care for the centuries because it contains detoxifying and exfoliating properties. From the ancient times in India it is believed that applying turmeric on your skin gives you youthful and glowing skin. It also helps to reduce acne, blackheads, pigmentation and makes your skin firm. You should buy kasturi turmeric if you are using it externally but its non edible.

DIY TURMERIC FACE PACK :

Turmeric face pack

THINGS YOU NEED :

  1. 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
  2. 1/2 gram flour
  3. 1 tbsp yogurt

PROCESS :

  1. Mix all the ingredients well to make a smooth paste
  2. apply this paste on face and neck properly
  3. rest for 8-10 minutes
  4. wash your face with water
  5. apply this face pack twice a week to make your skin firm and glowing.

Turmeric has been used for healing cuts and wounds from the ancient times because it has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. When turmeric paste is applied on the wound or cut it helps to reduce inflammation, pain and kills the bacterial growth around the wound.

HOW TO HEAL YOUR WOUND FASTER :

THINGS YOU NEED :

  1. Turmeric powder or if you have raw turmeric you can simply crush it
  2. a bandage for wrapping

PROCESS :

  1. Mix a little water in turmeric powder or crushed turmeric
  2. make a smooth mixture
  3. apply this mixture on your wound or cut
  4. wrap the wound with bandage
  5. keep this for 8-10 hours

TURMERIC MILK RECIPE :

Turmeric milk

THINGS YOU NEED :

  1. 1 glass of milk
  2. 1/3 tbsp of turmeric powder or little piece of raw turmeric
  3. 1/2 tbsp sugar ( if you are not diabetic )

PROCESS :

  1. Add turmeric powder or raw turmeric in milk in a sauce pan
  2. put the sauce pan on low to medium flame
  3. add sugar ( again, if you are not diabetic )
  4. let it boil for about 8-10 minutes
  5. strain the milk and serve.
